#56: Camp-Off

All my impressions of Jewish summer camps are from the couple of summers I spent at one. All my impressions of Christian summer camps are from the most obvious stereotypes that TV and movies have to offer.
Somehow, I don’t anticipate a lot of complaints! 😉
I went to a Christian summer camp… *ONCE*. I didn’t consider getting up before sunrise to attend the (mandatory) dawn prayer service any kind of “fun”.
I had a feeling I was roughly on the mark. Also, that revelation provides some interesting insight into your character!
For the record, I didn’t care much for Jewish summer camp myself. But really, that had more to do with the fact that I had already gone to secular art camp by that point, and no comparison could be made. 🙂
Oh, I wasn’t any kind of Christian – I was an agnostic-tending-toward-atheist by the time I was ten. (It took a while longer for me to stumble into Wicca.) But it was the cheapest summer camp my parents could find, and I didn’t want to spend the whole summer waiting for the Bookmobile to come around.
I’ve only ever been to scouting summer camps.
Far away from anything religious…
